I need to talk to you about something that will benefit you and your future Meta ads.

I think we can all be honest and say that Meta ads are truly confusing to start learning.

Because it’s extremely frontloaded.

If you don't know what frontloaded means:⠀

"to put or concentrate (efforts, costs, expenditures, etc.) at the beginning of (a contract, project, etc.)"

Setting up the meta pixel. Setting up the conversions API. Creating a custom audience. Creating a lookalike audience. Integrating Facebook SDK… all of that stuff is frontloaded.

But luckily. There’s this one thing you can do that would be better than all of the mumbo jumbo I’ve just mentioned.

Let’s dive into this.

Are You Making This Mistake?

I need you to do something really quick.

Go to your Meta ads right now and ask yourself “Does this have an offer?”. Because most ads don’t have something to give you in return.

It honestly breaks my heart when I start working with a client, and they’re currently running Meta ads that go something like “We’re the best and that’s why you should work with us”.

If you haven’t read any of my articles (which you should btw), people hate it when you talk about yourself. So you need to give them a reason on why they should care.

But it doesn’t stop here…

If your ad passed the first question, go back and ask this final question “Does the offer have a low threshold?”

Let’s look at an example.

Imagine I run an ad and it says “Get a million dollars transferred to your bank account, and the only thing you have to do is send me your kidney”.

I think we can all be honest and say that is a MASSIVE ask. Because they now have to extract their kidney, put it into an envelope, send it to you, and hope they send the money.

Now let’s use this same perspective to Meta ads.

If you were selling accounting services and your offer was something like “Jump on a 30 minute zoom call with me if you like this!”

The threshold is high for two reasons.

One, that’s literally half an hour.

Two, I don’t even know who you are.

How Do We Fix This?

Every ad needs a point and an offer.

But make sure the offer doesn’t require too many steps. The steps need to be easy.

Going back to our previous example, instead of the zoom call, if we were to offer a free article on “5 ways to minimise taxes”. Or a video explaining “3 ways to safely avoid taxes”. Then there’s a good chance you are going to take the offer since it’s easy.

It’s all about giving a reason on why they should care about you.

But going back to the main objective of marketing which is selling. You might be confused on how giving away a free video or article can help drive sales.

And that’s because we’re not done yet.

There’s one more step that will change everything.
